News: 美国ARVO协会的第三份期刊即将创刊!

已有两份期刊分别是:IOVS, JOV. The 2010 impact factor for IOVS is 3.466, ranking it 5th among 55 ophthalmology journals according to the ISI Journal Citation Reports. JOV’s 2010 impact factor is 2.805, ranking it 12th in the same category.

Journals
New: Translational Vision Science & Technology (TVST)

ARVO’s third journal, Translational Vision Science & Technology (TVST) will be an online only, peer-reviewed journal emphasizing multidisciplinary research that bridges the gap between basic research and clinical care. Subjects cover ARVO’s 13 Scientific Sections and the four ARVO Cross-Sectional Groups, including low vision.

The submission site will open in January 2012, and ARVO expects to publish the first issue in the spring.
The ARVO Board of Trustees has appointed Marco Zarbin, MD, PhD, FARVO, editor-in-chief.
The journal will cover a broad spectrum of work, including:
Applications of stem cell technology for regenerative medicine
Development of new animal models of human diseases
Tissue bioengineering
Chemical engineering to improve virus-based gene delivery
Nanotechnology for drug delivery
Design and synthesis of artificial extracellular matrices
Development of a true microsurgical operating environment
Refining data analysis algorithms to improve in vivo imaging technology
Results of Phase 1 clinical trials
Reverse translational ("bench to bedside") research

Investigative Ophthalmology & Visual Science (IOVS)

IOVS is ARVO’s peer-reviewed online-only journal that is available to all members as a benefit of membership, and to non-members and institutions by subscription. IOVS articles are published as ready and cover all of the sections represented by ARVO’s membership.
Editor-in-Chief Dr. Paul L. Kaufman, University of Wisconsin Medical School, leads a team of seven associate editors, and a 72-member IOVS Editorial Board (http://www.iovs.org/site/misc/edboard.xhtml) comprised of experts from around the world, covering all aspects of vision research. IOVS publishes over 800 leading edge articles every year that emphasize clinical and laboratory hypothesis-based research with statistically good results that clearly advance the fields of ophthalmic and vision research. Periodic sections on New Developments, Research Opportunities, and Clinical Trials broaden the scope of this highly respected journal. All Abstracts from the ARVO Annual Meeting (2002 – present) are published in IOVS. Fully searchable text of all published articles back to Volume 1, Issues 1 of the journal is available free, online to all readers.


Journal of Vision (JOV)
JOV is ARVO’s peer-reviewed online only free-access journal that publishes articles as ready throughout the year. JOV is free and open to everyone, everywhere and is devoted to all aspects of visual function in humans and other organisms. JOV welcomes experimental and theoretical reports in topical areas ranging from basic visual sensitivities to visual cognition, from psychophysics to visual neuroscience, and from optics of the eye to the visual cortex.
Editor-in-Chief Dr. Andrew B. Watson, NASA Ames Research Center, leads a 48-member Editorial Board of associate editors, advisors and editors comprised of internationally recognized experts. JOV publishes over 150 articles annually, as well as all of the abstracts from the Vision Sciences Society Annual Meeting.
