Tianjin Eye Hosptial ,formerly Huayang Blindness Prevention Organization of China,was founded by the french professor Lusuo Wang who were from Beiyang Medical School in 1924 .There were Blindness Prevention Clinics along Jingshan,Jinpu railway every 50km. And it was took over by Dr. Tian Dawen in 1927 and renamed as the Blindness Prevention Bureau. Dr.Tian opened the Blindness Prevention Clinics which were attached to the bureau in East Road, Xia Wang Fang ,Xi Nanjiao,xi Menli etc.

The Doument was Submitted to Public Health Ministry of R.O.C government by Huayang Blindness Prevention Organization of China (Today is Tianjin Eye Hospital)and Rotary. As can be seen from the picture above, Huayang Blindness Prevention Organization of China was founded in 1924 and set up Jointly Blindness Prevention Association with Tianjin Rotary in 1927.

It moved to Feng Consulate Road (today’s Chifeng Road) in former French concessions in 1931,and renamed as Blindness Prevention Hospital.

In April, 1949,The Public Health Ministry of North China People’s Government authorized it as the public hospital, and named it as the North China Blindness Prevention Hospital in May, the first special eye hospital since the founding of New China. The North China Blindness Prevention Hospital was took over by Tianjin Public Health Bureau in Febrary,1952,and renamed as

The North China Blindness Prevention Hospital was taken over by Tianjin Public Health Bureau in February,1952, and renamed officially as Tianjin Eye Hospital on 16th,April

No.255 Xingan Road,Heping District and No.118 Ha Erbing Road was allocated by Tianjin Public Health bureau to Tianjin Eye Hospital in 1957.

No.21 Datong Road, Heping District was allocated to Tianjin Eye Hospital by Tianjin Public Health Bureau as Inpatient Department in 1976.

The Out-patient Department of Tianjin Eye Hospital moved from Ha Erbin Road to No.15 Si Ping Dong Dao Road (on Heping Road),Heping District in 1991 From 1991 to October ,2004, Tianjin Eye Hospital had three places in different locations.

Overall Adjustment Plan of Health Resource Allocation was finalized in 2002: Rebuild Tianjin Eye Hospital in No.4 Gansu Road,Heping District.
